New & Unique
Over 10,000 new plants have arrived.  Come by and browse our extraordinary collection.  Some of our favorites for 2006 include:

Acer palmatus ‘Fireglow’
Fireglow is one the most elegant of Japanese maples.  Prized for its reliability & vigor, it boasts an intense red leaf color and is outstanding when planted where the sun can shine through the leaves for a blazing color accent.  Fireglow retains good color even in hot summer weather.

Acer palmatus ‘Kurabu yama’
A deep coral spring color followed by green in summer and intense burnt orange with gold highlights in the fall.  A gracefully layered plant that simply makes an outstanding year-round garden feature.

Acer shirasawanum ‘Aureum’
A highly prized Japanese maple sporting a spring foliage that is a distinctive yellow-green that darkens in summer. In summer, bright red fruit often peeks from under dense leaves . Adding to its beauty is a spectacular blend of orange and red fall foliage occasionally suffused with purple.  A “must have” for the discriminating fancier!

Acer palmatus ‘Nuresagi’
Referred to commonly as the “Wet Heron”, this delightful Japanese maple is both hardy and exquisite, with deep, rich tones of black, purple and red.  Ocassionally in summer leaves gain a slight, deep green mottling.  A wonderful addition which will help make your garden or landscape a showplace.

Bamboo ‘rula’
Bamboos are among the most interesting of plants and “rula” is a positively sublime bamboo.  Among its many interesting qualities is the red color of its new foliage.

Clematis ‘Summer Fireworks’
Aptly named, this is truly a spectacular and vivid (red, white & blue) garden addition.  Vivid, bicolor flowers with slightly wavy margins – the perfect addition to arbors, trellises, poles and other garden supports.

Coneflowers Galore!
This season be sure to come by and see our wonderful array of coneflowers.  Our collection includes ‘Orange Meadowbright’ (sunset pink to orange), ‘Big Sky Harvest Moon’ (golden yellow with orange centers), ‘Big Sky Twilight’ (coral pink with brown), ‘Sunrise’ (spectacular yellow) and ‘Sunset’ (vibrant orange).

Hemerocallis ‘Ruby Stella’
A stunning daylily, ‘Ruby Stella’ is bold, strong with numerous blooms with a light fragrance.  Plant a bunch of these daylilies for a quickly established enhancement to your landscape.  A truly “carefree” plant that is beautiful, hardy, trouble-free and a non-stop bloomer.

Helleborus ‘Royal Heritage’
A superb perennial, this cultivar is uniquely superior for its wide range of breathtaking colors (purple, red, near-black, white, green, pink and yellow) on 2 inch flowers with overlapping petals.  An extremely tolerant plant!

Hydrangeas
This is truly “The Year of the Hydrangeas” at Saxton’s!
Our over 18 varieties include:
‘Endless Summer’ – sporting a “mophead” that bears 8 – 10” flower cluseters and keeps on reblooming till fall. The flowers are pink or blue, depending on your soil pH (acid for blue blooms, alkaline for pink) and are splendid as cutflowers either fresh or dried!

‘Blushing Bride’ – another “repeat bloomer” with white blooms that mature to bluish pink or blue, depending upon soil acidity.  Spectacular blooms are complimented with glossy, green foliage.  An exquisite choice for any Hydrangea lover.

‘Light of Day’
In the same “family as ‘Endless Summer’, this lace-cap variety has variegated leaves and flowers of blue or pink that are born throughout the summer.  Simply beautiful!

Yellow Flowering Magnolias
Of the most regal of trees, the yellow flowering magnolias are perhaps the most beautiful and most hardy.  The sweet yellow color of the blooms are tinged with green and are unsurpassed for a subtle display that celebrates the arrival of spring.

White Tigress Maple
Interesting in so many ways, this small maple is easily grown and has year-round interest.  Chalky white stripes enhance the trunk and stems and the fine-textured foliage turns a stunning buttercup yellow in fall.  Truly a neighborhood conversation piece!
